Methodology

How we test casinos

Our review method, in full: how we verify licensing, test payouts and banking, and turn it into a transparent score — with no influence from commercial relationships.

Last updated July 2026

Our reviews start from a simple promise: we only feature casinos that are licensed to operate legally in Canada, and we judge them on the things that actually affect you — getting paid, banking in Canadian dollars, and being treated fairly — not on who pays us. Here is exactly what we check.

  1. 1Licence verification. Before anything else, we confirm the operator holds an AGCO registration and an iGaming Ontario agreement on the official register. No licence, no listing.
  2. 2Payout & banking. We check withdrawal speeds, Interac and Interac e-Transfer support, minimum deposits, and whether the casino is genuinely CAD-native — the friction points Canadians feel most.
  3. 3Trust & safety. We look at the operator's track record, ownership, and the responsible-gambling tools it must offer (deposit and time limits, self-exclusion).
  4. 4Games & live tables. We note the live-dealer studios (Evolution, Pragmatic, OnAir and others) and the breadth of the catalogue.
  5. 5Experience. Mobile responsiveness, the cashier flow, and support availability.

How we score

Each casino gets five category scores that combine into one overall mark out of 10 — see how we rank for the weighting. We lead with the tested number ("payout 24–48h") rather than vague praise, and every con is stated plainly.

On "tested" claims: our current scores are verified against live operator data and the AGCO / iGaming Ontario register (July 2026). Where a figure comes from first-hand testing, a named reviewer signs it off before we publish it as "tested" — we never imply experience we haven't had.

What does not affect a score

Commercial relationships and advertising spend have zero influence on our scores or order, and we use no affiliate links — see our editorial independence policy and advertising disclosure.

FAQ

Do you actually test withdrawals?

Where we publish a first-hand payout time, yes — a named reviewer deposits, plays and withdraws, then signs off the result. Figures not yet first-hand tested are clearly verified against current operator data instead, never presented as tested experience.

Do casinos pay to be reviewed or ranked?

No. Listing requires only a valid AGCO/iGaming Ontario licence. Advertising and commercial relationships never affect scores or order — see our editorial independence policy.
