How we rank casinos
The exact weighting behind our out-of-10 scores, how the order is decided, and why no operator can ever buy a higher ranking.
Last updated July 2026Every casino on NewOnlineCasinoSites.ca carries one overall score out of 10. It is built from five weighted categories, so a casino can't paper over slow payouts with a big game library. Here is the weighting.
We weight trust and payouts most heavily because they are what go wrong most often in this industry — a casino is only as good as its ability to pay you, safely. Track record is weighted lowest so a genuinely strong newer brand isn't unfairly buried.
How the order is decided
Casinos are listed from highest overall score to lowest. On comparison pages we sort by the metric that matters for that page — for example, fastest-payout casinos are ordered by verified withdrawal speed, fastest first — and break ties by overall score.
Rankings are never paid
No operator can buy a higher score, a better position, or a place on the list. The only way onto our pages is a valid AGCO / iGaming Ontario licence and a competitive assessment. We use no affiliate links and earn no commission from the operators we cover — read our advertising disclosure and editorial independence policy.
FAQ
Can a casino pay for a better ranking?
No. Position is set purely by our weighted score; advertising and commercial relationships have no influence. A casino cannot buy a higher score or a place on the list.
Why is one casino above another with a similar score?
Where overall scores tie, we break the tie by the category most relevant to the page — for comparison pages that is the page's headline metric, such as withdrawal speed.
